The focus of the College of Business Marketing Program is preparing students for today’s marketing careers, which require excellent analytical skills as well as a deep understanding of the effects of social and cultural differences on buyer behavior and organizational actions and reactions.

Marketing managers are concerned with understanding the needs of customers and providing product offerings that meet those needs better than other organizations’ offerings. They are responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing relationships with their organizations' customers and other stakeholders. Marketing managers are involved in organizational planning on a broad scale, interpreting competitive, technological, legal, social and cultural trends for the organizations they serve. Marketing careers, for both large and small organizations, include product management, personal selling, marketing research, advertising, promotion and distribution.
